Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) are an incentive program issued by the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) to encourage homeowners to install approved Solar Water Heaters, Air Sourced Heat Pumps, and Small Scale Generation Units (Solar Electricity).
STCs equal to one megawatt hour of renewable electricity generated or displaced by renewable systems, based on geographical location, installation date and the size of your system. When a system is installed, you are then eligible to claim these certificates, via the CER. Six Star Plus provides that incentive to the builder or homes owner as an upfront discount in exchange for the rights to claim the STCs on your behalf.
