As we close out another working year, we would like to thank our builders for their ongoing support and commitment to Six Star Plus in 2023. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year and it is also a time to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate.
Sharing the Christmas spirit of generosity is an important part of the festive season and giving back at this time of the year is what we love doing. We couldn’t do this without the support of our builders. With the success and feedback from last year’s donations, we thought it would be fitting to uphold the tradition and donate $100 on behalf of our builders rather than gifting. The Six Star team picks 3 charities, and we send it out to our builders to choose whom they want to donate to, and we donate on their behalf at Christmas
The 3 charities this year were:
Victorian Homeless Fund:
Supported by the HIA. The VHF works with local builders, councils, and government agencies to build homes to provide long term accommodation for women and children escaping family violence. Homes are built with the help of generous suppliers, volunteers and helpers throughout the build. MATES in Constructions:
MATES is was established to support tradies in the construction, mining, and energy industries. Their integrated industry intervention program raises awareness of suicide as a preventable problem, connects workers to the best available support, and partners with researchers to inform the industry around best mental health practice. Their programs enable staff to connect with tradies on-site and create networks of support for each other. MATES – Industry Based Suicide Prevention – MATES
Bless Collective:
Bless Collective provides community collective services, programs, support, and genuine love to those who are undervalued, isolated, and disadvantaged within the Cardinia Shire and its surroundings. This year they have partnered with the Salvation Army to create hampers filled with Christmas and household essentials tailored to their needs – including non-perishable foods, toiletries, kid’s toys, and gifts. As many of our staff live within the Cardinia Shire, they have volunteered to arrange the hampers in the coming weeks before Christmas. Donations will contribute to filling the hampers for the Christmas Together Program. https://bless.org.au/christmashamper
