Solar Victoria Rebates

The Solar Victoria Homes program offers eligible Victorian households with rebates and incentives to help reduce the costs of Solar PV, Batteries and Hot Water Heat Pump Change overs. Make the switch to an all-electric home seamless with multiple rebates available for one household, and rental properties.

To help more Victorians save with solar and make the switch to an all-electric home:

rebates and interest-free loans are now available to eligible households to replace their solar PV system if it is over ten years old
existing customers who received a rebate at their old address and have moved house, can now apply for multiple incentives for the property they have moved to if it is their primary residence
eligible property owners with a home under construction can apply for a solar panel (PV) rebate as soon as they move in
eligible rental providers can apply for a solar rebate for their rental property, saving on installation costs and reducing energy bills for renters.

Rebates:

Solar Panel (PV) Rebate

Rebate Amount: Up to $1,400

Optional Loan: Interest-free loan up to $1,400, repaid over 4 years

Eligibility:

You own and live in the property (or are building it)
Combined household taxable income is under $210,000
Property value is under $3 million
Property has not previously received a solar PV rebate
System must be installed by an authorised retailer using approved products

Hot Water Rebate

Rebate Amount:

Up to $1,000 for eligible heat pump or solar hot water systems
Up to $1,400 if you choose a locally made product

Eligibility:

Owner-occupier of an existing home
Combined household taxable income under $210,000
Property value under $3 million
Replacing a system that is at least 3 years old
Property has not previously received a hot water rebate
Must use an authorised retailer and approved products

Emergency Installations:

Allowed without prior approval, but eligibility must be confirmed afterward

Rental Properties

Solar PV rebate of up to $1,400 available for up to two rental properties per financial year
Interest-free loans also available for rental installations
